After scoring their highest UK chart position yet with this year’s album release BE, Beady Eye are on a UK tour.

The band are playing Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday with their new material and tracks from 2011 album Different Gear, Still Speeding.

This year, Beady Eye – formed following the break-up of Oasis – opened the Glastonbury Festival with a surprise performance on the Other Stage.

BE, released in June, was produced by Dave Sitek, who had previously produced for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio and Jane’s Addiction.

The album charted at Number Two in the UK and two singles – Second Bite Of The Apple and the double A-side Shine A Light/The World’s Not Set In Stone – have so far been released.

Another single – the double A side Iz Rite/Soul Love will be out on November 25.

Beady Eye were formed in 2009 by Liam Gallagher guitarists Gem Archer and Andy Bell, and drummer Chris Sharrock all former members of Oasis.

This year former Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler joined the band playing bass guitar on tour.

Tickets are £27.50. Visit or call (0844) 847 2362.
