BENCH pressing the equivalent weight of the guns on HMS Victory is no mean feat.

But four men took on the challenge to raise money for six-year-old Theo who suffers from congenital CMV.

From the outset it seemed like it was going to be tougher than we first thought.

The disease means he cannot walk, sit up and suffers from epilepsy.

Steve Clarke, Kev Green, Knox White and Ashley Coates bench pressed 60 tonnes each to raise money for a ramp and low-threshold patio doors so Theo can access the garden.

Lt Steve Clarke, 43, said: ‘From the outset it seemed like it was going to be tougher than we first thought.

‘But we have all worked together and supported each other well.’
