ANIMAL lover Elly McMeehan managed to finish the 10-mile long Great South Run in under two hours – while wearing a 22lb rhino outfit.

The 33-year-old bank account manager from Southsea was raising cash and awareness for charity Save the Rhino.

It was Elly’s fourth time running the race, but her first in the rhino costume, which she affectionately dubbed ‘Beryl’.

She finished in a respectable time of 1hr 58mins and now has the London Marathon in her sights.

She said: ‘It was hot and rather painful but it was amazing. All the other runners were incredibly supportive and the crowds were brilliant.’
