Bid to reconnect Chichester residents with Roman history

A MUSEUM has been awarded £10,000 to fund a new programme aimed at reconnecting residents with their Roman heritage.

The Novium Museum, in Chichester, received the grant from Arts Council England to go towards an Artists in Residence programme – celebrating the launch of the museum’s Roman Gallery in August.

Community arts company, Splodge Designs, will be working with community groups and schools to create two textile pieces, with supporting soundscape, which will explore the connection between Chichester residents and their Roman past.
