A TABLE tennis club has received more than £2,000 in funding.

Fareham Borough Council has awarded £2,360 to Generation 2 Table Tennis Club to buy four new tables.

The club trains at Neville Lovett school and is current league champions in both the Southampton and the Fareham and Gosport divisions.

Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of the council, said: ‘The allocation of community funding for the purchase of new equipment will enable this club to maintain its high standard as it expands to keep up with the growing popularity of the sport and provide world-class resources for aspiring players at all levels and ages for many years to come.’

The community fund is available to support projects that benefit the community or environment within the borough of Fareham.
