A WOMAN is seriously ill in hospital after her motorbike careered off a rural road and into a field.

The 35-year-old woman suffered serious head and back injuries after her motorbike crashed beside the A272 at Rogate, near Petersfield.

The biker, from Reading, was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in London, following the incident at about 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

Police do not believe any other vehicle was involved in the crash.
