FIREFIGHTERS were called out after someone spotted smoke coming from the back of a house.

When they turned up to the property in First Avenue, Portsmouth, they realised the smoke was coming from a bonfire which a resident had started.

Cosham fire station sent one truck to deal with the call at 10am on Saturday.

The crew made sure the area was safe before leaving shortly afterwards.

No-one was injured.
