FIREFIGHTERS from across the area tackled a blaze in Soberton Heath.

Around 70 firefighters from stations including Wickham, Droxford, Bishops Waltham, Fareham, Cosham, Havant, Southsea, Petersfield and Portchester extinguished a fire in a range of light industrial units at Dradfield Lane, near Droxford early yesterday morning.

Crews were called to the scene at 1.35am and fought the fire for around four-and-a-half hours.

The units and seven vehicles were totally damaged by fire.

There were 11 main jets, two hosereel jets and six breathing apparatus sets used to tackle the fire.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
