A BOAT had to be towed to shore after getting into difficulties.

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (Gafirs) was called to the incident after the 16ft boat started having trouble in Portsmouth Harbour. The lifeboat towed the vessel to Haslar Marina at around 3.20pm on Sunday.

An hour later, Gafirs was called out again after someone got concerned over a bike and shoes left on the shore, but was stood down by the coastguard after a search.
