LANDSCAPE designers who work for Hampshire County Council have launched a book to inspire better school grounds.

A Fresh Approach to School Landscapes was launched at Park Community School in Havant, which already uses design principles recommended in the book.

Councillor Peter Edgar, who was at the launch, said the book showcased the ‘brilliant work’ of the county’s designers.

He said: ‘School landscapes are full of opportunities to deliver enjoyable activities and build healthy lifestyles, providing an opportunity for school students to experience the wonder of nature first hand.

‘This new book provides inspiration and advice for schools looking to improve their outdoor space and draws on inspirational case studies from schools across Hampshire.’
