Youngsters from different Boys’ Brigade groups in the area have been hosting a number of events for the new year.

Over the last month boys from all over Portsmouth, Bedhampton, Wymering and Emsworth have been working as part of a team to create events to bring the community together.

First of all, they hosted an event of indoor games for five to eight-year-olds.

The day had a beach theme with the children running, jumping and crawling as they fetched crabs, ice creams and postcards.

The most recent event was the battalion parade held at Wymering Methodist Church, on Sixth Avenue. The event raised £190 for six taps to be built to provide clean water to those in need.

In the coming months, the boys can look forward to activities such as five-a-side football with help from volunteers who supply numerous activities to children from all different backgrounds.
