SUFFERERS of a chronic lung disease can get help after the launch of a support group.

The Breathe Easy group, based at Buckland Community Centre, had its official opening last week. The group holds meetings for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Chairman Eric Compton said: ‘We had a really great day.

‘There was a very good turnout and we were very pleased.

‘We do a lot for local people with COPD. We have weekly exercises and interesting guest speakers. It’s also nice just to be able to meet other people who are the same as you.’

The next meeting is on May 23 at 1pm and is open to residents across the area.
