A HOST of British bands have been added to the line-up for the Isle of Wight Festival 2012.

Festival favourites Feeder will open the main stage on Friday, while recently reformed glam-rockers The Darkness will headline the festival’s Big Top on Sunday night.

Other big-name acts revealed include Professor Green and Wretch 32, who have both scored number ones this year.

They are joined on the bill by fellow Londoner Loick Essien, whose debut album Identity is set to be released in March.

Clement Marfo and the Frontline complete the additions to the line-up.

The latest news comes after organisers claimed a UK festival exclusive by revealing American legends Pearl Jam as Saturday night headliners.

The Seattle band complete 2012’s American Trilogy, with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers headlining on the Friday and Bruce Springsteen as the main attraction on the Sunday.

Next year’s Isle of Wight Festival takes place on June 22 to 24.
