British Food Fortnight heats up for its tastiest weekend yet

SINCE its official opening last weekend, the British Food Fortnight in Emsworth has proven to be its most successful incarnation yet.

The middle weekend of the three-week celebration of great British food and drink hosts a taste-tingling range of events, including an community seafood lunch.

Served on Emsworth Quay this Sunday, the sold-out three-course lunch will feature delicious seafood prepared by four of the town’s finest chefs.

Hewitt’s on South Street will host the Emsworth Wine Fair on Saturday from 11am on Saturday. More than 40 wines will be available to taste, alongside cheese, chocolate and artisan pork pies.

The Emsworth Museum will be screening the documentary Emsworth Oysters – a look at the history of the town’s oyster fishing community – throughout the weekend

And today, St Peter’s Square will be transformed into ‘Chocolate Heaven’ for a decadent chocolate-themed afternoon tea.
