Burglars broke into Portchester house by forcing the back doors

BURGLARS used an '˜instrument' to break through a back door, before they stole expensive items and a car, according to police.

The thieves broke into the house in Castle Street, Portchester between 9.40pm and midnight on Saturday, February 20.

They made off with champagne, electrical items, car keys and took an Audi TT from the drive.

PC Andy Higgs said the thieves entered via a locked back door, using an ‘instrument’ to force the doors open.

He reminded people to be vigilant, to secure the backs of their properties and to lock all windows and doors

Police are investigating the burglary. Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious is asked to call 101, quoting reference 44160075192.
