BURGLARS stole Christmas gifts in a break-in. The thieves forced their way in to the property in St George's Walk, Gosport, via a bedroom window.
They searched the home before fleeing with 800 worth of goods including a Wii games console, a pair of GHD hair straighteners and Christmas cards containing money between 1pm on Thursday and 7am on Friday.
PC Suzanne Howard said: 'This is a rare burglary for this area, but has caused understandable upset to the victim due to the fact that gifts meant for Christmas have been taken.
'This is a quiet area, but is used as a cut-through to the town centre, so there is a chance the burglary could have been witnessed.
'We would remind all residents of Gosport that they should make sure their properties are kept secure at all times, and that valuables are not left on display. Be extra vigilant at this time of year, with the short daylight hours and the Christmas period.'
Anyone with information is asked to call Gosport station on 101 or 0845 0454545 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
