BUS staff baked up treats to raise money for a worthy cause.

First Hampshire depots in Fareham and Portsmouth raised £886 for Macmillan Cancer Support thanks to coffee mornings and cake sales.

Staff made a range of cakes and savouries to sell to colleagues and took part in a dress-down day, coming to work either dressed casually or wearing something green, Macmillan’s brand colour.

First donated free advertising space to Macmillan on all its buses.

Chrissie Bainbridge, of First Hampshire, said: ‘We never cease to be amazed by the generosity of our colleagues in donating their time and money towards helping our charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.

‘I am extremely proud of all our staff for the way they entered into the spirit of the occasion by either baking some delicious cakes and pastries, or donating money for the privilege of dressing down. Almost everyone is touched by or knows someone affected by cancer.’
