Brothers, Barry and Ronnie Leng, originally bought the business ‘Aqua Cars’, back in June 1990 with a fleet of just 16 taxis but following the expansion the firm operates more than 1,000 vehicles.

Bruce Hall, general manager at Aqua Cars said: ‘In order for us to keep up with the demand we needed to expand our fleet and drivers to ensure that when customers contact us, we have drivers and vehicles available for their journey.

‘More and more people are using our services on a regular basis, by adding to our services with Jetlink, our executive airport department we knew that we required to have more drivers and back office staff to cope with demand to provide a great customer experience every time.’

Both businesses will continue to operate under their independent brand names from their respective offices, Aqua Cars in Portsmouth and Andi Cars in Havant, with Aqua Cars Holdings being the parent company.

Dave Campbell assistant manager at Aqua Cars added: ’Without the local community we wouldn’t have a business, 30 years on we still have the same passion for the job.

‘Now we have a larger number of vehicles and drivers we can improve the quality of our service for our customers.’
