Bakery and gallery join forces for a sweet deal

Have your say

ARTISANAL bakery Bread Addiction is now operating the cafe at contemporary art gallery, Aspex.

Founders of the Southsea-based bakery, Nikola Ondrouskova and Ladislav Adamek, opened the business three years ago.

The Bread Addiction team produce bread, cakes, tarts and pastry by hand in their bakery on Elm Grove, using seasonal produce.

With the additional site in Gunwharf Quays, staff will bring freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, salads and hot drinks to the gallery.

They will also offer afternoon tea and hand selected wine served with antipasti.

Director of Aspex Joanne Bushnell said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Bread Addiction to Aspex.

‘Whilst engaging with our programme of contemporary visual art, visitors to the gallery can now enjoy beautifully crafted treats - provided by an award-winning independent business.’

Ladislav said: ‘This is an amazing opportunity for Bread Addiction to extend our bakery space and invite more people to enjoy what we do.’

Aspex is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm and Bank Holidays.
