Chief economist to give talk
CHIEF Economist of the Bank of England Andy Haldane will be meeting with representatives, partner organisations and service users from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation to discuss how the bank's policy decisions affects Hampshire communities.Â
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation is holding the event on Monday in Winchester. The visit is part of the bank's outreach programme, to hear from a wide variety of people from different communities across the UK.
Mr Haldane said: '˜We recognise we've sometimes been better at talking than listening, so we hope the meeting will be a two-way conversation that will help to put a more human face to the bank. We hope attendees will gain greater understanding of our work, while the debate will feed into the discussions of the banks' policymakers.' '‹'‹'‹'‹'‹
