STAFF and directors are celebrating after being selected for the most prestigious business awards.
Accuracy International Ltd and Aqua Cooling Solutions Ltd were winners of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
More than 100 British businesses across the country received a Queen’s Award to recognise their contribution to enterprise.
Accuracy International Ltd in Portsmouth received the accolade for its success in international trade. Firms that won this award showed they have benefited from substantial international growth overseas.
Under the leadership of directors Tom Irwin and Dave Walls, the company designs, develops and manufactures sniper rifles for military and law enforcement groups as well as civilian competition shooters in more than 60 countries.
Mr Irwin said: ‘We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award.
‘As a small UK company committed to manufacturing our product here in Britain, we’re proud that our rifles are considered the market leader and we are grateful for this recognition from the Queen.’
Aqua Cooling Solutions, in Fareham won the award for its innovation in recognition of one of its data centre products, the UK manufactured aqua leak prevention system.
The product enables computer data centres and server rooms to use water cooled data cabinets with guaranteed leak-free operation.
Sales director Simon Davis, who designed the LPS concept for Aqua Cooling said: ‘Receiving a Queen’s Award for Enterprise is such an honour, not just for me personally, but to the company as a whole.
‘It recognises the contribution made by all of our employees on a daily basis to put Aqua on the map as a global market leader in the data centre field.
‘Our LPS system has propelled us into the data centre industry and enabled us to grow and develop our business within this market sector, both at home and overseas.’
For the winners there will be a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Marking its 50th anniversary the scheme celebrates businesses that are leading the way in international trade, innovation and sustainable development.
This year 105 businesses received awards for international trade, 24 for innovation and 12 for sustainable development.
