Curry network evening mixes business and food

BUSINESS PEOPLE gathered to network and raise money for charity over delicious dishes of curry.Â

Serviced accommodation providers Town or Country hosted Tillison Consulting's latest Curry Business networking event last week. 

The monthly event was held at the recently re-opened Kuti's Brasserie, in Southampton. An Indian buffet was served to the business professionals, who also helped raise £123 for charity Breast Cancer Haven through a raffle.

Curry Business is organised by Waterlooville-based digital marketing agency Tillison Consulting. 

Shaun Farrell, business development manager at Tillison Consulting, said: '˜It was great to see faces both new and familiar.' 

Sharon Wood, business development at Town or Country, said: '˜This was our fifth time hosting Curry Business, and each time it gets better and better. The food was fantastic and it was a great opportunity not only to catch up with fellow local professionals, but also to raise a great bit of cash for the excellent work being done by Breast Cancer Haven.'

Sally Hillyear, fundraising manager for Breast Cancer Haven, said: '˜I am delighted that we were chosen as Curry Business' charity for October and nominated by Town or Country. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so it has been the perfect month to raise awareness.

'˜The money raised will enable us to continue to help people locally with breast cancer through emotional and physical support at our centre in Titchfield.'

Hosted in locations across Hampshire, Curry Business has helped Tillison Consulting raise more than £5,500 for local causes including No Limits, The Murray Parish Trust and Cafe Imbizo.

Tillison Consulting are now looking ahead to the final Curry Business of 2018, and the first one to be hosted in Southsea.

The News will be taking on hosting duties at Kassia from 7pm on November 21, with proceeds from the night going to Rowans Hospice.
