East Hampshire council launches scheme for businesses to help in community

BUSINESSES are being encouraged to team up with charities as part of a new scheme.

Launched by East Hampshire District Council, Business Buddies partners firms which want to make a difference in their community with organisations providing vital services.

Petersfield-based technology company Feefo, that helps businesses make better decisions, is the first to sign up to the scheme.

Councillor Richard Millard, council leader, said: ‘The wellbeing of East Hampshire residents is absolutely what we, as a council, are all about.

‘Staff at the council can take two paid days for volunteer work to get out there, roll up their sleeves and make a difference to our communities.

‘If we could get businesses and charities working together then we could really start to see the benefits on the ground.

‘Businesses can offer whatever skills they have from administrative support, fund-raising, marketing expertise to help with IT advice.  ‘
