THEY may be fitness fans but a CrossFit group had to tough it out to complete a charity challenge.
Twenty-two members of CrossFit Fareham took part in 24 intense workouts in 24 hours to raise money for the Breast Cancer Haven.
The team smashed their target of £2,500 by raising £6,100 for the charity which has a centre in Titchfield supporting women with breast cancer.
In the 24 hours, each member did 1,000 squats, 950 pull ups, ran 10km and lifted more than 40 tonnes.
Matt Beard, head coach and director who took part himself, said: ‘It was a hugely successful community event.
‘We blew our original fundraising target for Breast Cancer Haven out of the water thanks to our amazing committed members.
‘There were some highs and some lows, and many funny points in between; ultimately it was the toughest physical challenge many of us have ever completed.
‘We wouldn’t have got through it without the support and encouragement of each other and our supporting members. We are very proud of the community we have created.’
The amount raised by CrossFit Fareham is enough to put six women through a full programme of support at the centre, on The Square.
Heidi Rehman, community fundraiser, thanked the team for their efforts.
