Fareham residents urged to have say on plans for former navy airfield

Have your say

RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on plans for a former navy airfield and the county council’s proposals to build two new roads.

Fareham Borough Council has launched its draft vision for Daedalus, in Lee-on-the-Solent, which includes how it wants to use the site and the types of development it would like to see there.

It will be showing the plans, along with Hampshire County Council’s ideas for a new Stubbington bypass and a new Newgate Lane South, at a Community Action Team meeting this week.

The plans for all three items will be on display on Thursday between 1pm and 7pm at Holy Rood Church, in Gosport Road, Stubbington.

There will be an opportunity to quiz council workers, hear presentationes and to speak to ward councillors at a special Community Action Team meeting, which will be held at 7pm.

Chairman of the meeting will be Stubbington ward councillor Kay Mandry.

She said: ‘I know a lot of local people are interested in Stubbington bypass, Newgate Lane South and Daedalus.

‘I would encourage them to come along to both the exhibition and the meeting to find out more about the plans and to have their say.’

The plans are available online at fareham.gov.uk/consultations, until September 23.
