A BOOST in funding from the government will help build a business centre and employment units.

The grant is part of the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership – a scheme designed to improve the regional economy by investing in infrastructure.

The money will go towards developing a business centre in Whitehill and Bordon as well as a pilot project to create employment space and jobs elsewhere in the district.

Ferris Cowper, leader of the East Hampshire District Council, said: ‘Things are happening at real pace now with this news.

‘We have tangible progress on homes and jobs as well as essential infrastructure, with the relief road already under construction. The promises are being kept.’

The development of the Whitehill and Bordon Business and Enterprise Centre will deliver new employment space and is aimed at attracting entrepreneurs and supporting start-ups and small businesses in the area.
