YOUNG pasty maker Harrison Shaw proved he is a chip off the block with his kangaroo creation in the World Pasty Championships.
The nine-year-old from Portsmouth came second in the savoury junior category at the competition, which was held at the Eden Project, in Cornwall, on Saturday.
His dad, wacky baker Rich Shaw, formerly of Southwick Village Stores which is closed due to structural damage, is a competition stalwart.
He has previously entered the world’s most expensive pasty, costing £230, which contained Wagyu meat. This year he entered a ‘bushtucker’ pasty filled with locusts, worms and crickets, in a chilli and chocolate barbecue sauce.
However it was Harrison’s kangaroo steak in a sweet pepper and red wine sauce pasty that placed the highest.
