A BRAND new care home is due to open in Horndean next year and the business has already appointed a home manager.

Ray Arnold is set to lead Care UK’s Pear Tree Court team on Portsmouth Road.

The three-storey care home will feature 72 en-suite rooms, a cinema, hairdressing salon and cafe.

Ray has spent the last 11 years working in a number of roles across the care sector.

His experience lies in residential, nursing and dementia care.

Ray said: ‘I am excited to lead a skilled and passionate team when we open the doors early next year.

‘In order to be a successful home manager you need to be an excellent communicator, respectful, kind, and always willing to learn.

‘More than anything, I’m looking forward to putting smiles on the residents’ faces, knowing they are having a joyful time at a happy home.’

Emily Forbes has also been appointed as customer relations manager. Emily said: ‘My previous role involved organising events and activities, and I am looking forward to continuing this with residents at Pear Tree Court.

‘Most of all however, I am looking forward to meeting new families and residents and making them feel at home.’
