Portsmouth Aldi store opens its door again after extension

A SUPERMARKET has reopened its doors – and created six new jobs.

The Aldi store in Gamble Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, reopened following a three-month development to increase the store’s size to 1,020sqm.

It was declared open by store manager, Paul Tweed in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The store is now has more than 100 car parking spaces and offers around 1,500 products.

The extension has created six new jobs in the local community.

Mr Tweed said: ‘It was great to welcome customers back into the store following our four-week closure and I was pleased to see some new faces shopping in store.

‘The “Specialbuys” proved very popular with customers, and they seemed to enjoy the new space that the extension has created.’

Aldi Specialbuys days happen every Thursday and Sunday and offer customers savings on electrical and household items.
