A company has expanded and created new jobs after receiving a multi-million pound grant.
TJ Waste and Recycling, part of the TJ Group, has purchased a new waste transfer station on Quartremaine Road, Portsmouth.
The Hampshire-based company made the purchase after receiving a £5.5m grant from HSBC to support their expansion aims.
The waste transfer station is due to open in April 2016, creating eight new jobs.
John Gosling, managing director at TJ Group, said: ‘As well as the new waste transfer station, there are plans in place for another site, new offices and a bigger fleet.’
Anthony Reed, area director at HSBC in Hampshire, said: ‘The purchase of the new waste transfer station is a significant investment for the TJ Group, and we’re delighted to provide the funding which has made that possible.’
They currently have seven locations including Wickham, Portsmouth, and Southampton.
