PLANS to install a huge Ferris wheel attraction at Clarence Pier in Southsea will no longer being debated this month.

Pier director Jill Norman had anticipated its bid to bring in the £750,000 ride would go before Portsmouth City Council’s planning committee at its meeting on Wednesday.

But the proposals are not on the agenda, and it is now expected to be brought up in February.

Pier bosses hope to have the 110ft-high structure, which has been dubbed the Solent Eye, in place by Easter. It could be taken elsewhere if planning approval is not given.
