ONE of the world’s largest vehicle rental companies is introducing a car club at its new branch in Portsmouth.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is introducing car club vehicles at its Fratton branch to help meet a growing need for ‘on demand’ van and car rental from businesses and residents.

The new facility features four Enterprise Car Club bays for customers who want to access a vehicle 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Customers will also be able to rent a wider range of vehicles – including commercial and tailgate lift vans for the first time.

The branch, which is open seven days a week, also allows booking and access to the vehicles with a mobile app even when the branch is closed.

Paul Smith, general manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car South Central England, said: ‘Our new facility is designed to give customers the opportunity to choose the right vehicle for their needs and to access it whenever they need it.

‘Both businesses and residents are increasingly using car rental and car clubs to meet their mobility needs. We’re finding that our vans are really popular with residents for house moves or when they need a larger vehicle to their own.

‘Businesses want to offer employees more flexible ways of staying mobile when they need to travel for business. That’s when services like Enterprise

Car Club can be really effective, as you can pick up a car at any time, even if the branch is closed.’

Members can also access a network of 1,100 vehicles parked on street in more than 30 major towns and cities. Many of its club vehicles are located at transport hubs or railway stations to make it easier to travel around the UK.

Membership is available to anyone 19 years old and costs from £7 per month or £60 per year. Vehicles are available from £4.95 per hour including VAT and 21p per mile.
