Rolls-Royce production slows down after strikes

LUXURY car manufacturer Rolls-Royce says it had to slow down its construction due to the problems in the channel tunnel.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, based in Chichester, has car parts and materials delivered from the continent. But recent strikes at Calais affected rail services.

Spokesman Andrew Ball said: ‘The situation regarding incoming parts and materials has been challenging, and as a consequence we have had some disruption to production. However, as a luxury manufacturer, we have inherent flexibility in our operations, and we continue to hand-build motor cars. We will monitor the situation.’
