STUDENTS who have taken the leap and set up their own businesses celebrated Small Business Saturday with a range of activities and offers.

The six students all set up their own businesses while studying A-levels and Btecs at Portsmouth College. They all received mentoring from the college’s partnership with the Unloc Enterprise Academy, led by former student and entrepreneur Hayden Taylor.

He said: ‘Small Business Saturday is a superb campaign that highlights all the amazing things that small businesses in our community are doing. It’s great that we’re recognising the contribution they make to society.’

Businesses taking part were; Digital Dinos, set up by Carl Hewitt, Rock Clothing started by Kieran O’Toole and Jason Franklin, Roses Bakery founded by Rosie Newton, Shop Geona, started by Megan Crosby and Kinda Holy, set up by Ella Poingdestre.
