This is why Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth was evacuated today

A POPULAR shopping centre in Portsmouth was evacuated earlier today. 

Workers and visitors exited Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth earlier this morning as part of a planned drill.

The procedure was aimed at emulating a real evacuation, in the event of an incident. 

Yvonne Clay, senior marketing manager at Gunwharf Quays, said: ‘As part of our regular health and safety training, we conducted a planned evacuation this morning.

‘This is now complete and the centre is open as usual.’
