A COUPLE from Southsea are hoping to bring some motivation and inspiration into the workplace with their new business.
Craig McHugh and his partner Pam Saunders have set up a new training and coaching firm, called Living Your Learning.
Craig said: ‘I have been in training and development for more than 20 years and I thought that it could be done differently, in a better way rather than the chalk and talk approach.
‘I believe you don’t learn unless you live it. Everything we do is to help people see how to do things differently.’
The pair quit their day jobs earlier this year in order to focus on their new business.
They have been supported by the University of Portsmouth’s Business School, and found office space at the university’s Innovation Space.
Craig said: ‘The help has been amazing.'
Since going full-time, they have worked with some big name clients, including housing provider Radian, blind manufacturer Thomas Sanderson, local authorities in the Dorset Council Partnership and Amour Recruitment.
Craig said: ‘We have an unwavering desire to improve people, teams, businesses and organisations because we passionately believe that anyone can improve, evolve and be even better at what they do.
‘We believe this is achieved through amazing learning experiences that can be applied in the real world so that real results are achieved.’
The company provides a range of courses, as well as personality profiling, people development systems, coaching and keynote speeches.
Craig said he believes all organisations could benefit from the training, and that firms need to be mindful about their staff welfare, in order to create a successful and happy work place.
Craig added: ‘Getting up every day and helping people and seeing them improve is great. It is massively inspirational.’
