Two prestigious prizes awarded to Fareham engineering firm

A Fareham engineering company had two reasons to celebrate last week.

Aqua Cooling was officially presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise by the Queen’s representative in Hampshire, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq.

Then three days later they won 2015 SME of the Year award at the Solent Business Awards.

The innovative Hampshire company won the award in light of its significant 
contribution to business across the region and recent export successes with its patented leak prevention technology that guarantees water-cooling systems can operate without the threat of water seepage.

Aqua Cooling director Kevin Lancaster said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have won this award.

‘The company’s growth and consistently excellent performance is testament to the strong team sprit shown by all our staff.

‘I am very proud to be able to accept this accolade on behalf of everyone at Aqua Cooling and hope that being recognised as the Solent Business Awards’ SME of the Year for 2015 will spur us all on to even greater success in future.’

The Queen’s Award ceremony last Monday was attended by Aqua’s staff, all of who were praised for their team effort in supporting the firm’s bid for the prestigious British mark of excellence.

One of only 24 Innovation award winners, the Fareham firm received the UK’s highest accolade for business success for its revolutionary Leak Prevention System (LPS), a patented technology which has revolutionised cooling methods in many data centres and server rooms around the world.

Sales director and inventor of the LPS technology, Simon Davis, said: ‘It is the ultimate seal of approval and a real boost as we strive to break into new export markets and industry sectors.

‘Being recognised as one of Britain’s best businesses would not have been possible without the inventiveness, commitment and hard work of everyone at Aqua Cooling and together we are determined to remain at the forefront of innovation.’
