BUSINESSES are being encouraged to allow their staff to work from home to combat the effect of the proposed Southern Rail strikes.
Robert Rutherford, CEO of IT consultancy QuoStar, advised that businesses which allow their staff to work from home will be at an advantage. He urged businesses to encourage staff affected to work remotely in order to prevent further disruption.
Mr Rutherford said: ‘The upcoming rail strike will affect swathes of commuters. Businesses with employees who are facing problematic transport links should consider implementing cloud or advanced remote working solutions to allow working from home.
‘The benefits to the business are too big to ignore –with access to the same tools and support as office-based workers, and less disruption, commuters struggling with strikes can remain an integral part of the firm.’
