Busy time for lifeboats as people head to sea

A WOMAN was brought to shore by a lifeboat with a suspected broken leg.

Portsmouth RNLI and Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service were called out to No Man’s Land Fort in the Solent to rescue the casualty.

She was brought to Camber Dock in Old Portsmouth yesterday afternoon to be taken to hospital.

Earlier, on Saturday evening, Portsmouth RNLI launched a lifeboat to help a 17ft power boat that was taking on water near Horse Sands Fort.

It came after a busy few days for the coastguard and RNLI with crowds heading to the coast because of the hot weather.

A child was rescued at Medmerry Nature Reserve, near Selsey, after getting cut off by the tide last Thursday evening at about 7pm.

The child was found and was not injured. He was reunited with his family.
