THE Portsmouth RNLI were called out twice within an hour on Friday.

Portsmouth’s D-Class lifeboat Brian’s Pride was requested at 5.23pm to help three people stranded on a 6m fishing boat in Langstone Harbour, after their tender had been blown away.

The crew called Solent Coastguard for advice and the Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was launched. The stranded crew were given life jackets and transferred into the lifeboat and back to Southsea marina.

The ILB was also requested to free a yacht that had broken free from its mooring in the rough weather.

The call-outs were the 100th and 101st service requests this year.
