TWENTY police cadets paid a visit to a new Coastguard rescue station to see first-hand how it operates.

The group from Gosport Police Cadets went to the station on Daedalus, Lee-on-the-Solent, last week. The cadets went on a tour and heard a talk from the Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team.

Brian Graham, Coastguard rescue officer said: ‘It was our pleasure to welcome Gosport Police Cadets and show them the work that we do.

‘They are the first youth group to visit us and we had a great time showing them round.’

The new facility incorporates the HM Coastguard Training Centre and is used to train coastguards from all over the UK.
