TASTY blueberry muffins could be on offer at schools to help raise cash for our Blue Day 12 in aid of the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.

Eden Foodservice, on Airport Service Road, Copnor has pledged to make a host of muffins for children to sell in aid of the cause.

The firm – which sells dinners to schools in the city on behalf of Portsmouth City Council – will donate 100 of the cakes to each school that wants to sell them on behalf of the charity.

The company’s business support manager Howard Bryant said: ‘We wanted to take part in Blue Day this year, but it’s on a Friday which is the busiest day of the week for us.

‘So we thought this would be a good way to get involved and support the family with their £1m target.

‘We’ll just have to wait and see what the response is, but hopefully lots of schools will get on board and sell the muffins at their Blue Day events.’

All profits raised from the muffins will be donated to the trust.

Schools have already been emailed, but those who want to participate must tell the firm by tomorrow.

Offer applies to Portsmouth schools only. Call (023) 9269 8263 to take part.
