SOUTHSEA fire station’s smaller vehicle was called out to tackle a grass fire.

The small fires vehicle was sent to Twyford Avenue, in Stamshaw.

The call came in at 10.10pm and was a small fire on a grass verge.

Firefighters put out the small blaze by 10.18pm, and stayed to check over the area for safety.

The cause of the fire was unknown.

The vehicle is designed to attend such incidents.
