DELAYS are affecting commuters tonight on the Waterloo line after a train fault at Clapham.

Ten South West train services have been altered or cancelled from London Waterloo, but normal services are set to resume from 6.30pm.

The Waterloo to Portsmouth train at 5.30pm was cancelled, as well as the 5.48pm service from Waterloo to Southampton.

The 6.15pm service from Waterloo to Portsmouth and Southsea will run at eight coaches, rather than the normal 10.

A statement from South West Trains said: ‘Other train services should not be affected, however, given that other services will be very busy you may wish to use the following alternative routes.

‘Customers with South West Trains tickets travelling on the affected services Portsmouth and Southampton will be able to use Southern Train services to Portsmouth Harbour.’
