A CAR caught fire after the engine overheated.

Fire engines from Cosham were called out to the car which had to pull over on the M27 eastbound between Hilsea and the Eastern Road, at Farlington.

The call came in at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

Firefighters put out the fire, but it was not thought the car was a write-off. Earlier on Saturday, at 1.30pm, firefighters went to tackle a burning sofa that had been set alight in High Lawn Way, Leigh Park.
