PEOPLE were hit by a power cut in Peterfield last night.

Homes and businesses in the area were affected, following a car reversing into with Southern Electric’s pylon in Charles Street.

This meant that 23 customers around the Charles Street and Merritts Meadow area were without power since before 7pm.

A spokesman for Southern Electric, said: ‘The power was restored to the customers that were affected by the damage to the overhead lines.’

SSE aimed to have Tesco Express in Charles Street power back on after 1am.
