A CAR was badly damaged in a blaze on a major road in the city.

Firefighters rushed to tackle to the fire in Southampton Road, Cosham, near Queen Alexandra Hospital.

One appliance from Cosham fire station attended the blaze.

No-one was reported to be injured after the incident yesterday.

It happened at around 2.30pm.

The cause of the fire is not currently known.
