A DRIVER was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle after her vehicle came off the road.

The woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, was driving south along the A3M motorway near Horndean when she swerved to avoid debris in the road.

She then lost control of the vehicle and it left the road and landed in a ditch.

Firefighters from Havant and Horndean were called to help paramedics lift the driver from the ditch on a stretcher.

The incident happened at 2pm yesterday.
