A CARE service has joined community groups and a supermarket to offer gifts to elderly people on their own this Christmas.

Home Instead Senior Care, in Fareham and Gosport, will work alongside Age Concern and Community Action Fareham for the project.

The Home Instead team will have a stall in Tesco, Fareham, where customers are invited to buy a small gift and donate it towards the appeal.

John James, owner of Home Instead Fareham and Gosport, said: ‘The Be a Santa to a Senior campaign provides a wonderful opportunity to touch the lives of older people among us who generally don’t have family around during the festive period.’
