Cash boost for A&E campaign

ACCOUNTANTS have raised more than £5,000 to help towards a trust’s mission of building an A&E department especially for children.

The cash total of £5,802 has been raised by Hampshire-based advisory firm HWB, off the back of a 2018 company-wide fundraising effort.

Following a cheque presentation last month, it has now gone to The Murray Parish Trust, which is campaigning to raise £2m to build the A&E facility at University Southampton Hospital, alongside the Southampton Hospital Trust.

The Murray Parish Trust was set up by actor Sarah Parish and her husband James Murray after the pair lost their daughter Ella-Jayne – who was treated at the hospital in 2008.

Cash raised by HWB was collected across a series of fundraising events, including an excursion in April, which saw 15 members of staff take on the Three Peaks Challenge, raising £3,800.
